# Privacy Policy

## What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed (unreadable) version of your password. If you interact with the gallery we also store any comments and likes associated with your account.

For unauthenticated visitors, we store a browser fingerprint for up to 10 minutes to manage guest browsing sessions. This fingerprint contains no personally identifiable information.

## Why we collect it

- Your name and email are used to identify your account and, where enabled, send a verification email

- Your password is hashed using bcrypt and cannot be read by anyone, including the site owner

- Comments and likes are stored to display your activity on the gallery

## How it's stored

Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas cloud servers. Passwords are hashed before storage and are never stored or transmitted in plain text. We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party beyond the service providers listed below.

## Third party services

This site uses the following third party services, each of which may retain server logs independently of this site:

- Resend — email delivery

- Cloudinary — photo storage

- Render — backend hosting

- Vercel — frontend hosting

- MongoDB Atlas — database hosting

## Your rights

- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This permanently removes your name, email, password, and all associated data from our database

- Comments you have left will be anonymised rather than deleted in order to preserve conversation threads

- You may request a copy of your data or ask for it to be corrected by contacting us

## Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we become aware that a user is under 13 we will delete their account immediately.
